Abstract
The project aims to rehabilitate and improve the functionality of existing wells in the region. The project is being implemented by International Relief and Development, Inc. (IRD) under Task Order Contract No. AID-294-TO-13-00018. The project involves the rehabilitation of three wells: the Arraba Well Pump Station (ARW), the Sanuar Well Pump Station (SNW), and the Saadeh Well Rehabilitation (SDW). The rehabilitation efforts include the installation of new pumps, pipes, and other infrastructure to improve the water supply and reduce the risk of contamination. During the reporting period of December 1-31, 2013, the project made significant progress in terms of mobilization and site preparation. The project team conducted several meetings with the Jenin District Coordination Office (DCL) and the Bet El authorities to discuss security coordination and traffic management plans. The team also finalized the traffic control plan with the Israeli authorities for the Arrabeh and Sanur wells. The project team implemented safety and environmental measures, including the installation of first aid kits and fire extinguishers at the project site. The team also conducted weekly safety meetings with the subcontractor to improve the existing safety program and create awareness among the workers. In terms of progress, the project is slightly behind schedule due to delays in delivering construction submittals and shop drawings. The bad weather encountered between December 11 and 15, 2013, also contributed to the delay. However, the project team is working to close the remaining issues and complete the mobilization process. The project has made significant progress in terms of material and equipment delivery, with a total of 14 submittals submitted during the reporting period. The team has also received review comments for 11 submittals out of the 14 submitted. The project team is working to address the comments and resubmit the necessary documents. Overall, the project is making progress in terms of mobilization, site preparation, and safety measures. However, the project is slightly behind schedule due to delays in delivering construction submittals and shop drawings. The project team is working to close the remaining issues and complete the project on time. The project team has also conducted several site visits and meetings with the authorities to discuss project progress and address any issues that may arise. The team has also submitted several reports and documents to the client, including the construction monthly progress report, which provides a detailed summary of the project's progress and status. The project is expected to continue making progress in the coming months, with a focus on completing the construction activities and delivering the project on time. The project team will continue to work closely with the client and the authorities to ensure that the project is completed successfully and meets the required standards.
