Abstract
AID-294-I-00-12-00003, is a construction project aimed at rehabilitating wells in the region. The project is being implemented by International Relief and Development, Inc. (IRD) and is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project's primary focus is on the Arraba Well Pump Station-ARW, which is one of the key components of the Wells Rehabilitation Project-WER. The project's scope includes the rehabilitation of the well pump station, installation of new equipment, and provision of necessary infrastructure to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the well. During the reporting period of June 1-30, 2015, significant progress was made on the project. The Safety Plan and the Environmental Monitoring and Mitigation plan were approved by the CMC, and the Engineer's site office was furnished with a first aid kit and two fire extinguishers. Traffic management plans were submitted, approved, and applied, and safety meetings were conducted with IRD subcontractors to improve the existing safety program. The project's security coordination was also a key focus during the reporting period. The IRD Security Coordinator conducted several meetings with various stakeholders, including the Electric Commander and the Water Commander, to ensure the smooth delivery of materials and equipment to the site. The coordinator also followed up on the movement of pipes and pumps at the checkpoint. In terms of progress and scheduling, the project is still slightly behind schedule, with an actual percentage complete of 38.43% compared to the planned percentage complete of 46.31%. However, the project team is working to rectify the situation and ensure that the project is completed on time. The project's safety status is satisfactory, with no accidents occurring during the reporting period. The environmental status was also checked on a daily basis, and no environmental issues were reported. The project team is committed to maintaining a safe and environmentally friendly work environment. The project's overall status is summarized in Table 6.1-ARW-Progress Summary Table, which provides a detailed breakdown of the project's progress status. The table shows that the project is still behind schedule, but the project team is working to rectify the situation and ensure that the project is completed on time. In conclusion, the Wells Rehabilitation Project-WER is making significant progress, despite being slightly behind schedule. The project team is committed to maintaining a safe and environmentally friendly work environment and is working to ensure that the project is completed on time.
