Abstract
The project aims to improve the infrastructure of the Al Jalameh Crossing and the Deir Al Ghsoun - Al Jarosheyah Road in the West Bank/Gaza region. The project consists of two main components: Project 01, which involves the improvement of the Al Jalameh Crossing, and Project 02, which involves the rehabilitation of the Deir Al Ghsoun - Al Jarosheyah Road. Project 01 includes the rehabilitation of approximately 0.4 km of road 60, the implementation of a traffic movement plan, and the supply and installation of a pre-engineered structure to serve as a pedestrian waiting area. Project 02 includes the reconstruction of approximately 0.5 km of a four-lane urban road, the milling and overlay of approximately 4.0 km of a two-lane road, and the installation of 1.6 km of drainage pipelines. The project is expected to be completed within 240 calendar days, with an estimated completion date of August 1, 2017. The project value for Project 01 is $2,735,540.75, and the project value for Project 02 is $4,510,143.75. A comprehensive health and safety program plan was prepared and submitted to the Construction Management Firm (AECOM) on December 19, 2016. An environmental compliance plan addressing the responsive actions to special conditions was submitted to AECOM on December 26, 2016. Traffic control measures were evaluated and a plan was sourced out to a sourcing engineering firm. Coordination with local authorities was conducted as detailed in the coordination table to introduce the project to the local community. Meetings were held with Tulkarem Municipality, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Jenin and Tulkarem District Coordination and Liaison offices, and utility owners. The project has made progress in the first month, with 3.1% completion of Project 01 and 3.1% completion of Project 02. The project team has prepared a comprehensive health and safety program plan, an environmental compliance plan, and a traffic control plan.
