Abstract
This process is crucial for making books accessible to a wider audience. The conversion from MS Word to ePUB format can be achieved using Calibre, a free program usable on all operating systems. To convert an MS Word file to ePUB format using Calibre, the first step is to download and install the software. Once installed, open Calibre and drag and drop the MS Word file onto the Calibre workspace. Select the file by clicking on it, and then choose the "Convert Books" option. A page will open with a prompt to add a cover image, which can be uploaded if the default image provided by Calibre is not suitable. The next step is to fill in the metadata, including the title of the book, author(s), publisher, and book description. This information will be used to name the converted file and provide context for the e-book. After filling in the metadata, click OK to initiate the conversion process. Once the conversion is complete, the new ePUB file can be viewed on the right side of the Calibre workspace. The converted file will be saved in a folder called "Calibre Library" and will be named according to the metadata fields. The file will open in the computer's default e-reader, allowing users to examine the file for any formatting issues or errors. If issues are found, the MS Word file can be edited and re-converted to ensure that the ePUB file is accurate and error-free. After converting all the storybooks, the files should be renamed to a specific format, including the project name, English title, and interior, followed by the .epub extension. For example, the file name could be SENSE_AkuDaAkuya_interior.epub. Once the files are renamed, they are ready to be submitted to the Global Digital Library.
