Grant to the Cooperative League of the USA (CLUSA) to help cooperatives in developing countries to increase their access to export markets.

Abstract

CLUSA will conduct activities in trade promotion, market analysis, and various technical services. (1) To promote increased trade by cooperatives, CLUSA will produce pamphlets describing its goals, objectives, and services and will organize orientation programs for cooperatives regarding options available for participation in international trade. (2) CLUSA will conduct market research and compile information on geographic markets and export opportunities for products sold by LDC cooperatives. Special attention will be given to target countries of A.I.D."s Private Enterprise Bureau. (3) Technical services to be provided by CLUSA to LDC cooperatives will include: sponsoring workshops and seminars for potential clients; identifying trade shows and trade missions; and supplying TA in export marketing.
