Counterpart funds project, PL 480 Title I program/activity description, project no. 2.83

480 Title I counterpart fund activity to conduct an elephant management survey as part of the Zambian subproject of the Natural Resources Management project (6900251). Zambia"s National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPSW) plans to carry out an aerial survey of national parks and game management areas to determine elephant numbers and distribution, as a prerequisite to decisions on the management and culling of elephant populations. This activity will finance the costs of renting and flying aircraft, purchasing and maintaining equipment (cameras, recorders, etc.), and professional and support staff.
