Abstract
The OJK was established in July 2012 and began operations on January 1, 2013. The OJK leadership recognizes the importance of communicating its existence and purpose to various stakeholders, including consumers, to facilitate a better understanding, greater transparency, increased trust and credibility, influence, and behavior change. To achieve this, the OJK seeks to leverage its organizational communication function to reach and influence all stakeholders impacted by the Indonesian financial regulatory framework. The OJK's legal mandate was issued by PERATURAN DEWAN KOMISIONER OTORITAS JASA KEUANGAN, NOMOR 01/PDK/IX/2012 TENTANG ORGANISASI OTORITAS JASA KEUANGAN. This decree specifies the role and primary function of communications within the OJK, with the Directorate of Communications and International Relations (DIRC) having primacy for all corporate communications. The DIRC comprises three divisions: Communication Strategy and Management Division, Communication Division, and Division of International Relations and Cooperation. The Directorate of Consumer Protection and Education (DCPE) has primacy for all public education initiatives and community outreach within the OJK, with a mandate to execute and provide support for well-planned public information programs targeting consumers and the public. The OJK Strategic Communications Roadmap aims to create alignment between strategy and execution by developing an overall strategic communications roadmap that connects strategy with implementation through developing appropriate messages and themes, identifying audiences, activities, and tools, and measuring impact. The roadmap is intended to support the OJK in achieving its organizational strategic objectives and making an impact to realize its mission. The document outlines the importance of strategic communications in creating alignment between strategy and execution, with the goal of building trust and credibility with stakeholders. It emphasizes the need for an integrated communications framework and detailed scope of work to support communicating the OJK Mission. The OJK Strategic Communications Roadmap is a critical component of the OJK's efforts to establish itself as a credible and effective financial regulator in Indonesia. By leveraging its organizational communication function and developing a comprehensive strategic communications approach, the OJK aims to increase transparency, trust, and credibility with stakeholders, ultimately contributing to the stability and growth of the Indonesian financial sector.
