Abstract
The program aims to enhance the technical capacity of USAID staff and implementing partners in conflict-sensitive programming and peacebuilding. The C102 workshop is a key component of the program, providing participants with practical skills and knowledge to analyze conflicts and design effective responses. In the third quarter of fiscal year 2016, MSI provided remote logistical support to C102 trainings in Bogota, Colombia, and Monrovia, Liberia. The trainings were attended by 22 and 20 participants, respectively, and received high ratings for content, training methods, and logistics. The Gender and Conflict (G&C) workshop is another critical component of the program, focusing on the integration of gender into conflict program design. In the third quarter, MSI provided logistical support to G&C trainings in Bogota, Colombia, and Monrovia, Liberia. The trainings were attended by 21 and 19 participants, respectively, and showed strong knowledge retention and high participant satisfaction. MSI also continued to develop and manage the Peace Exchange, an online community of practice (CoP), which provides a platform for USAID staff and implementing partners to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices in conflict-sensitive programming and peacebuilding. In the third quarter, MSI organized a Peace Exchange webinar and conducted a joint activity with the Alliance for Peacebuilding. In addition to these activities, MSI met with CMM to designate C102 revisions as priority, annual, or overhaul and logistically prepared for a C102 offering in Bangkok, Thailand. MSI also submitted the first Peace Exchange quarterly report and prepared for attendance at the Conflict Sensitivity Community-Hub meeting in Barcelona, Spain. The program's activities are summarized in the following section, and a detailed breakdown of participant demographics by course is provided in Annex 1. The program's progress and achievements in the third quarter of fiscal year 2016 demonstrate its commitment to enhancing the technical capacity of USAID staff and implementing partners in conflict-sensitive programming and peacebuilding. The C102 workshop received high ratings for content, training methods, and logistics in both Colombia and Liberia. The G&C workshop showed strong knowledge retention and high participant satisfaction in both countries. The Peace Exchange continued to provide a platform for knowledge sharing and best practices in conflict-sensitive programming and peacebuilding. MSI's activities in the third quarter of fiscal year 2016 demonstrate its commitment to supporting USAID's conflict management and mitigation efforts. The program's progress and achievements provide a foundation for continued growth and development in the coming quarters. The program's geographic focus is on countries with high conflict levels, including Colombia and Liberia. The program's timeframes are quarterly, with a focus on delivering high-quality training and technical assistance to USAID staff and implementing partners. The program's recommendations for the next quarter include continuing to develop and manage the Peace Exchange, providing logistical support to C102 and G&C trainings, and designating C102 revisions as priority, annual, or overhaul. The program's plans for the next quarter are to continue delivering high-quality training and technical assistance to USAID staff and implementing partners, with a focus on enhancing their technical capacity in conflict-sensitive programming and peacebuilding.
