Abstract
This issue focuses on evaluations across various USAID sectors. A total of 80 selections are included, providing insights into the effectiveness of various development programs. The agriculture and food security sector is a key area of focus, with 17 evaluations included in this issue. These evaluations assess the performance of programs such as the USAID/COMFISH mid-term performance evaluation, the final performance evaluation of the community livelihoods project (CLP) agriculture program, and the process evaluation of the Peace Corps/Senegal master farmer program. The evaluations examine the impact of these programs on agricultural productivity, food security, and rural livelihoods. In the democracy, human rights, and governance sector, 10 evaluations are included. These evaluations assess the performance of programs such as the Peace and Governance Program (USAID/PGP) performance evaluation report, the final performance evaluation of the USAID/Moldova civil society strengthening program (MCSSP), and the final performance evaluation of the actions for combating trafficking-in-persons (ACT) program. The evaluations examine the impact of these programs on democratic governance, human rights, and the rule of law. The economic growth and trade sector is also a key area of focus, with 14 evaluations included in this issue. These evaluations assess the performance of programs such as the mid-term evaluation of the enterprise development for global competitiveness project (COMPETE), the mid-term performance evaluation of the global labor program, and the evaluation of the Guyana skills and knowledge for youth employment program. The evaluations examine the impact of these programs on economic growth, trade, and private sector development. The education sector is another area of focus, with 5 evaluations included in this issue. These evaluations assess the performance of programs such as the final performance evaluation of the education support program (ESP) in Egypt, the final performance evaluation of the improving quality of primary education program (IQPEP), and the performance evaluation of the education program of the community livelihoods project (CLP). The evaluations examine the impact of these programs on education outcomes, access, and quality. The environment and global climate change sector is also a key area of focus, with 7 evaluations included in this issue. These evaluations assess the performance of programs such as the final report of the sustainable conservation approaches in priority ecosystems program (SCAPES), the SilvaCarbon performance evaluation final report, and the mid-term performance evaluation of the hariyo ban project. The evaluations examine the impact of these programs on environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development. The global health sector is a critical area of focus, with 23 evaluations included in this issue. These evaluations assess the performance of programs such as the final performance evaluation of the TB care I - Afghanistan project, the final evaluation of the healthy child and mother project, and the mid-term evaluation of the USAID/Senegal health program. The evaluations examine the impact of these programs on health outcomes, access to healthcare, and disease prevention. The USAID planning and management sector is also a key area of focus, with 4 evaluations included in this issue. These evaluations assess the performance of programs such as the program evaluation of USAID/East Africa's activities in Somalia, the cross-cutting final report for the partnership for growth mid-term evaluation, and the USAID/Iraq Capacity Building Office summative project evaluation report. The evaluations examine the impact of these programs on USAID's planning and management processes. The water and sanitation sector is another area of focus, with 2 evaluations included in this issue. These evaluations assess the performance of programs such as the Liberia municipal water project (LMWP) mid-term performance evaluation and the mid-term evaluation of USAID's Middle East Bureau/technical services monitoring agriculture and water resources development (MAWRED) project and water information system platforms (WISP) project. The evaluations examine the impact of these programs on water and sanitation access, quality, and management. The working in crises and conflict sector is a critical area of focus, with 7 evaluations included in this issue. These evaluations assess the performance of programs such as the quantitative impact evaluation of the SHOUHARDO II project in Bangladesh, the mid-term performance evaluation report of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reconstruction program, and the final performance evaluation of the partnership for capacity building in disaster management program. The evaluations examine the impact of these programs on crisis response, conflict mitigation, and humanitarian assistance.
