Abstract
The project was funded by the USAID contract No. 51/2014 and implemented by the Fundación Moisés Bertoni. The project's objective was to improve water management in the rural areas of Canindeyú Department. The project involved collecting data on water supply and sanitation services in six municipalities of Canindeyú Department. The data collection process included surveys, interviews, and observations. The data was processed and analyzed using various tools and software, including geographic information systems (GIS) and statistical analysis software. The project's findings indicated that the water supply and sanitation services in the rural areas of Canindeyú Department were inadequate, with many households lacking access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation facilities. The project recommended the implementation of community-based water management systems, which would involve the participation of local communities in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of water supply and sanitation services. The project also identified the need for improved infrastructure, including the construction of new water supply systems and the rehabilitation of existing ones. Additionally, the project recommended the implementation of policies and regulations to ensure the sustainability of water supply and sanitation services in the rural areas of Canindeyú Department. The project's results were presented in a report, which included maps, tables, and figures that illustrated the project's findings and recommendations. The report was intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the water supply and sanitation situation in the rural areas of Canindeyú Department and to inform policy and decision-making at the local and national levels. The project's methodology involved the use of various tools and techniques, including surveys, interviews, and observations. The data was collected from a sample of households and communities in the six municipalities of Canindeyú Department. The data was then processed and analyzed using various software and tools, including GIS and statistical analysis software.
