Abstract
support by the Oficina Nacional de Evaluacion de Recursos Naturales. Activities will include: (1) seminars; (2) public meetings; (3) conferences; (4) publications (brochures on basic environmental problems, an instructor"s guide to environmental education, a revision of a guide to ecological field work, bulletins on APECO and its network of environmental associations, and a catalogue of environmental materials available in Peru); (5) radio programs on conservation in Selva Central and Andina Sur; (6) regional education programs (extension into Chachapoyas and Huanuco of the national campaign for environmental education); and (7) a training program for teachers in communities near the new Rio Abiseo National Park. Some activities will address the specific constraints to communication unique to the various regions of Peru, e.g., translating radio programs into Quechua for the Cuzco area.
