Abstract
This will help judicial authorities collect and assess information about the performance of courts and individual judges, and provide data for an accurate estimate of the level of funding required for a smooth functioning of the judiciary. The USAID Rule of Law Institutional Strengthening Program (ROLISP) work plan activities include compiling an equipment needs inventory. During May-June 2012, ROLISP engaged in court visits to every Moldovan court, collecting information about each court's equipment inventory and its equipment needs. The information was compiled in this report, which was submitted to the Ministry of Justice-led ICMS Working Group. The report contains the information submitted to the MOJ/ICMS Working Group, combining the three sources of information: ROLISP's court visits, the Department of Judicial Administration's (DJA) collection of information, and the Center for Special Telecommunications' (CTS) list of courts' equipment needs compiled in August 2012. The report includes four tables that provide an accurate picture of Moldovan courts' current equipment inventory and their needs for the near future. Table 1 is an inventory of each court's equipment gathered by ROLISP during the court visits. The table lists the equipment available at each court, including servers, external data storage systems, routers/firewalls, and other equipment. Table 2 lists the equipment needs of each court as identified by the courts during the court visits. The table includes the equipment needed by each court, such as servers, printers, and scanners. Table 3 gives the courts' equipment needs collected by the DJA during 2012. The table lists the equipment needed by each court, including servers, printers, and scanners. Table 4 lists the equipment needs of the Moldovan courts as identified by the CTS in August 2012. The table includes the equipment needed by each court, such as servers, printers, and scanners. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the equipment needs of the Moldovan courts, highlighting the gaps in equipment and the needs of each court. The information will be useful for the MOJ/ICMS Working Group in its discussions on the condition of court equipment and the additional equipment needed to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted functioning of the Integrated Case Management System (ICMS).
