Abstract
This marked the third consecutive year for Macedonian fresh produce export companies to participate in the event. Fruit Logistica is recognized as the world's leading trade fair for the fresh produce industry, attracting key industry decision-makers, importers, wholesalers, and retailers. The joint presentation enabled the participating companies, Turan, Altra, Vivi Prom, Badzo, and Agrohemija, to establish multiple business contacts and improve their prospects for increasing the exports of Macedonian fresh fruit and vegetables. The event provided a unique opportunity for the companies to gain a complete overview of the latest trends and interest in the produce worldwide. The Macedonian National Stand offered an exceptional construction and excellent visibility, thanks to the support of the AgBiz Program. The participating companies achieved excellent results, with the signing of €1.9 million worth of new orders for exporting fresh fruit and vegetables to Germany. These orders were secured with 26 buyers who committed to purchasing various products from Macedonia, including spring cabbage, early vegetables, large quantities of open field tomatoes and cucumbers, as well as peaches and watermelons throughout the season. The successful outcome of the event was attributed to the knowledge gained from previous years and the outstanding presentation of the Macedonian producers. The trade fair provided a platform for the participating companies to establish established contacts with buyers, securing new business arrangements for the coming season. The event also facilitated interactions with professionals and potential buyers from Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and North America. The AgBiz Program's support enabled the Macedonian companies to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the event, further solidifying their position in the European market. Germany remains the most important market in Europe for Macedonia's fresh fruit and vegetables. The AgBiz Program will continue to encourage Macedonian fresh fruit and vegetables exporters to identify opportunities to work together when developing sales strategies for the large and more competitive EU markets. The program's efforts aim to support Macedonian agribusinesses in initiating export deals and expanding their presence in the global market.
