Abstract
The program is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and has a total budget of $9,507,870. The program's objective is to achieve a coordinated government response, a skilled social workforce, and educated and engaged families and communities. The program's geographic coverage includes Phnom Penh, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kandal, and Preah Sihanouk. The program's reporting period is from April 1 to September 30, 2018. During this period, the program implemented various activities, including the establishment of a finance officer, finance coordinator, administration officer, and MEAL coordinators. The program also engaged with partners, including Cambodian Children's Trust, Children's Future International, Children in Families, First Step Cambodia, Hagar, Komar Rikreay, This Life Cambodia, and International Organization for Migration. The program's progress was affected by a road accident on June 22, 2018, which resulted in the loss of four team members and the injury of ten others. The accident left the program with limited MEAL capacity and depleted child protection technical capacity. However, the program was able to mitigate some of the impact by receiving assistance from SC Australia and by continuing to implement activities. The program's member engagement activities included the approval of new sub-grants to partners, including Cambodian Children's Trust, Children's Future International, Children in Families, First Step Cambodia, Hagar, Komar Rikreay, and This Life Cambodia. The program also held Thematic Sub Group (TSG) meetings to develop proposals for service delivery and to discuss the reintegration of children. The program's focus on reintegration of children was led by Cambodian Children's Trust and This Life Cambodia, with a renewed focus on working with a smaller number of Residential Care Institutions (RCIs). The program also agreed to add new partners for service delivery, including Children's Future International and Komar Rikreay. The program's progress was also marked by the closure of some actions and partners, including Hagar, Cambodian Children's Trust, and International Organization for Migration. The program's achievements during this reporting period include the establishment of a finance officer, finance coordinator, administration officer, and MEAL coordinators, as well as the engagement with partners and the implementation of various activities. The program's geographic focus is on Phnom Penh, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kandal, and Preah Sihanouk, with a focus on strengthening the care system for children and families in these areas. The program's timeframes are from September 29, 2015, to September 30, 2020, with a reporting period from April 1 to September 30, 2018. The program's recommendations include continuing to implement activities, engaging with partners, and focusing on the reintegration of children. The program's implementation details include the establishment of a finance officer, finance coordinator, administration officer, and MEAL coordinators, as well as the engagement with partners and the implementation of various activities. The program's methodology includes the use of sub-grants, TSG meetings, and other activities to achieve its objectives. The program's key findings include the impact of the road accident on the program's progress and the need to continue implementing activities to achieve the program's objectives.
