Abstract
The project's focus was on developing and implementing energy-efficient technologies and practices in schools, municipalities, and other public institutions. The project was structured around pilot projects, which aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of energy-efficient solutions and promote their adoption. One of the key pilot projects was the Olovo School Pilot Project, which was finalized in the fifteenth quarter. The project involved the installation of a biomass boiler house, which was handed over to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport. The boiler house was issued a License for use, marking the official end of the project from the USAID 3E perspective. The project was implemented through an Energy Service Company (ESCO) concept, where the ESCO, Dvokut Pro Company, would maintain and operate the boiler house for a fixed annual price, with the Ministry repaying half of the investment after five years. Another significant pilot project was the Banja Luka Student Center Pilot Project, which aimed to improve the energy efficiency of the student center's domestic hot water system. USAID 3E prepared and sent letters to the relevant authorities to request the issuance of a construction permit for the project. The project was in progress as of the end of the fifteenth quarter. The project also focused on promoting energy efficiency in Tuzla Canton, where a number of solicitations were issued for various activities. An Invitation for Business Cooperation was published in the media, inviting businesses to participate in the implementation of energy-efficient projects in the municipalities of Tuzla Canton. The project also included the installation of energy information points in all municipalities of Tuzla Canton and the launch of an energy media campaign to promote energy efficiency. The project's progress was monitored through various indicators, including the completion of pilot projects, the issuance of licenses, and the implementation of energy-efficient technologies. The project's activities were also presented at a panel discussion at the Johns Hopkins University School for Advanced International Studies, where the USAID Enterprise Energy Efficiency (3E) project presented its activities and future plans. The project's focus on energy efficiency was aimed at reducing energy consumption and promoting sustainable development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project's initiatives and technologies were designed to improve the energy efficiency of public institutions, reduce energy costs, and promote the adoption of energy-efficient practices. The project's progress and achievements were monitored and reported on a quarterly basis, providing insights into the effectiveness of the project's initiatives and the potential for scaling up energy-efficient solutions in the region.
