Abstract
The program focused on developing capacities for reconciliation, improving the educational climate, and consolidating a culture of peace in municipalities with high levels of vulnerability. The program was implemented in 18 municipalities across four departments in Colombia, including Antioquia, Cauca, Córdoba, and Santander. The main achievements of the program include the training of 1,050 teachers in human and didactic capacities for inclusion, resulting in a 23% improvement in their socio-emotional competencies and a 144% increase in the implementation of better practices in their classrooms. The program also delivered 9,583 books on teacher training and conducted workshops and training sessions for teachers. The program's results showed a significant improvement in the educational climate and a reduction in the dropout rate in participating schools. The program's success was attributed to the strong partnership between Proantioquia and USAID/Colombia, as well as the commitment of the teachers and school administrators who participated in the program. The program's impact was also evaluated through a midterm assessment, which showed a 27% increase in household income among program participants compared to the control group. The program's sustainability was ensured through the establishment of a network of teachers and school administrators who continued to work together to improve the educational climate and promote reconciliation in their communities. The program's success served as a model for other initiatives aimed at promoting reconciliation and improving the educational climate in communities affected by conflict.
