Abstract
These products are designed to prevent and treat acute malnutrition, as well as prevent stunting and malnutrition-related issues. Fortified flours are fortified with micronutrients, including vitamins and minerals, to enhance their nutritional value. Fortified flours are categorized into several types, including milled flours, soy-fortified flours, and blended flours. Milled flours are fortified with micronutrients, such as vitamin A and iron, to enhance their nutritional value. Soy-fortified flours are blended with soy protein to provide a complete protein source. Blended flours, such as Corn Soy Blend Plus (CSBP), combine cornmeal and soy to provide a balanced mix of carbohydrates and protein. Ready-to-use foods are designed to provide a full day's worth of nutritional needs and calories for individuals in emergency situations. These products are formulated to prevent micronutrient deficiencies and promote linear growth and appetite in children between 6 months to 2 years. Ready-to-use foods are available in various forms, including pastes, bars, and sachets. The fortified food products are designed to target specific populations, including children under 2, pregnant and lactating women, and malnourished children and adults. The products are formulated to prevent stunting and acute malnutrition, as well as treat moderate and severe acute malnutrition. Each sachet or serving contains a specific amount of nutritional content, ranging from 10-100 grams. The fortified food products are designed to be used in various settings, including emergency situations, school feeding programs, and safety net programs. The products are formulated to provide a nutritional boost to general rations, as well as to promote linear growth and appetite in children. The products are also designed to prevent micronutrient deficiencies and promote overall health and well-being.
