Accessing Google Sites begins with the USAID Sites web page.

Abstract
Users can access this page by clicking the USAID Sites web page or by selecting the Sites App hyperlink from any other Google Apps page. When the page opens, sites that the user has access to appear. To create a new site, users click the Create new site button. The Create a new site in usaid.gov page appears, opening to the default Blank template. Users may select the Browse the gallery for more hyperlink to view a vast array of templates. For example, the Project Tracking Template was chosen from the Business Collaboration options. The Project Tracking Template provides users with options for customization. Users can click the Preview template hyperlink to view the template and select the Use this template button if the template is chosen. The Create a new site in usaid.gov page appears, allowing users to customize their site. Site name is a critical component of creating a new site. Users type the desired name into the Name your site field, which is auto-filled as the custom URL for the site in the Your site will be located at this URL field. Site themes determine the overall look of the site, and users can choose from a variety of options, including standard solids and whimsical backgrounds. Collaboration settings are also an essential aspect of creating a new site. The site creator determines who is able to view and collaborate within the site by selecting the appropriate radial button under Collaboration with. Options include Everyone at USAID and Only people I specify can view this site. Once the collaboration settings are established, users can click the Create site button to create their new site. After creating a new site, users can edit pages by selecting the Edit page button from the upper right-hand corner. The Edit Toolbar appears, providing the tools necessary to edit the page. Users can make changes to the page, including adding new content, modifying existing content, and adjusting the layout.
