Abstract
The report is a comprehensive overview of the progress made by the Global Health Supply Chain - Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project in achieving its objectives. The GHSC-PSM project is a five-year initiative funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to strengthen the supply chain for health commodities in developing countries. The project focuses on four key health areas: HIV/AIDS, malaria, family planning and reproductive health, and maternal, newborn, and child health. In the HIV/AIDS area, the project made significant progress in commodity procurement, working to achieve the first 90 (diagnosis), second 90 (treatment), and third 90 (viral load suppression) targets. The project also supported voluntary medical male circumcision and rapid response to emergencies. In the malaria area, the project provided country support, distribution support, and commodity procurement, sourcing, and delivery services. The project also addressed challenges in the global commodity environment and engaged in global strategic collaboration. The project also made progress in family planning and reproductive health, country support, and FP/RH core program. In maternal, newborn, and child health, the project focused on quality, data availability, and supporting USAID partner organizations. In terms of global commodity procurement and logistics, the project achieved significant milestones in restructuring supply chain functions, procurement and deliveries, strategic sourcing, and decentralized commodity procurement. The project also made progress in systems strengthening technical assistance, including country programs, bridging headquarters and field offices, and systems strengthening. The project also engaged in global collaboration, including market dynamics, global standards, advocacy, knowledge management, and communications. The project trained people in various areas, including market dynamics and global standards. The report highlights the project's achievements, lessons learned, and adaptation in various areas. The project's performance is also evaluated, including on-time delivery, cycle time, and percentage of countries conducting annual forecasts and quarterly supply plan updates. Overall, the GHSC-PSM Semiannual and Quarter 4 Report for Fiscal Year 2017 provides a comprehensive overview of the project's progress in achieving its objectives and highlights the challenges and opportunities faced by the project.
