Abstract
The project implemented or followed up on the implementation of activities to ensure timely access to essential health commodities and services. This was in support of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the President's Malaria Initiative (PMI), and to provide support for access to tuberculosis (TB) and Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) commodities. In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the project team collaborated with the national AIDS program and key stakeholders to develop job aids based on DRC's new HIV guidelines. These job aids included multi-month dispensing (MMD) of TLD 90 and 180-tablet packs. The project also supplied 551 PEPFAR-supported sites throughout the DRC with HIV/AIDS pharmaceuticals and commodities, consisting of ARV drugs, HIV test kits, Isoniazid, Cotrimazole, and lab consumables. In Senegal, the project provided technical support to the HIV program to determine HIV/AIDS commodity needs for the next three years. The project also supported the monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS commodities, including ARV drugs and lab consumables for viral load and early infant diagnosis. The project's efforts in the DRC resulted in the transition of 136.8% of patients from TLD to TLD, with 71.2% being MMD patients.
