Abstract
The partnership brings together a growing movement of organizations to help build a resilient future that leaves no one behind. GRP focuses on the most vulnerable people and places, tackling the most intractable challenges at the intersection of peace and stability, disaster resilience, and food and water security. The GRP secretariat adds value to the existing programmatic work of its partners through four Value Additions (VAs): Innovate and Scale, Share and Learn, Convene and Shape, and Advance Knowledge. Each VA has a set of Collaborative Actions (CAs) that are co-developed with partners, with corresponding Long-Term Objectives, deliverables, and activities. During the reporting period of January to March 2021, GRP made significant progress in various initiatives. The Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA) was off to a strong start, with a learning webinar organized for projects funded by the Government of Canada and the announcement of winners to the Ocean Resilience Innovation Challenge. GRP also launched a call for Expression of Interest (EoI) to identify and nurture novel, viable, and fundable initiatives that address gaps in local finance for adaptation needs in fragile and conflict-prone areas. In addition, GRP is co-developing the Resilience Knowledge Coalition, a "network of networks," with SSN/CDKN and ICCCAD/LUCCC as co-leads. This coalition will build on existing initiatives, capture technical experience, and act as a bridge between resilience knowledge, policy, and practice. A first coalition learning webinar was organized, and the Resilience Knowledge Coalition has over 400 members from 100 organizations, bringing together a vibrant community of practitioners, researchers, grassroots organizations, policymakers, and investors from the Global South and North. GRP is also expanding the GRP Solutions platform to become a "go-to" online space to capture, access, co-create, and advance the latest resilience knowledge, lessons, and solutions. The partnership is collaborating with Ona on the maintenance and further expansion of its Management Information System (MIS) and has contracted WiredCanvas to support the dynamic linking of the MIS with other online platforms. The GRP secretariat welcomed two new members to the team: Shuchi Vora, Programme Officer, and Ameil Harikishun, Policy Officer. Both are hosted at South-South-North and will support the partnership with an emphasis on South-South and South-North collaborations. GRP's vision is a world where vulnerable people and places are able to thrive in the face of shocks, uncertainty, and change. The partnership believes that resilience is fundamental to the global commitment to "leave no one behind" in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). GRP's work is focused on the most vulnerable people and places, including the Least Developing Countries (LDCs) in the Sahel and Horn of Africa, parts of Southern Africa, South and South East Asia, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Pacific and Caribbean.
