Gujarat[, India] medium irrigation

Evaluation covers the period 8/78-9/81 and consists of a PES facesheet attached to an Annual Implementation Review (PD-AAI-798) which highlights the action taken by the Government of Gujarat (GOG) on the recommendations made in the 1980 Mid-Term Status Report as well as progress made by the project. The GOG has acted to remove all constraints to progress identified in the status report. A disbursement of $7.4 million has been made, with an additional $1.5 million of claims targeted for processing by GOG and the Government of India by 9/81. Quarterly disbursement rates have increased from $0.5 million to $1.5 million as a result of the GOG"s actions. Although physical progress and financial allocations have improved significantly, they are still behind in schedule. Conditions should improve as a result of the expeditious action being undertaken by the GOG to relieve staffing constraints. The project assistance completion date (PACD) will have to be extended one year, until 6/30/84, to allow the project to meet its objectives.
