Abstract
The project aims to strengthen national and local government efforts, improve civil society organization advocacy, and increase private sector partnerships to service TIP survivors and at-risk populations. The project focuses on nine districts in Nepal, including Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Kapilvastu, Kathmandu, Makwanpur, Nuwakot, and Rupandehi. Each district profile provides information on population demographics, including population size, sex ratio, and literacy rates. The profiles also highlight the challenges and opportunities for addressing TIP in each district. The project's methodology involves collecting data through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions with stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector representatives. The data is then analyzed to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for addressing TIP in Nepal. The project has identified several key indicators to measure its progress, including the number of TIP cases registered, the number of survivors receiving services, and the number of at-risk populations reached. The project also aims to strengthen national and local government efforts to combat TIP, improve civil society organization advocacy, and increase private sector partnerships to service TIP survivors and at-risk populations. The project's baseline study provides a comprehensive overview of the current situation regarding TIP in Nepal, including the number of TIP cases registered, the number of survivors receiving services, and the number of at-risk populations reached. The study also highlights the challenges and opportunities for addressing TIP in each district and provides recommendations for future action. The project's findings indicate that TIP is a significant problem in Nepal, with a high number of cases registered in the past year. The study also highlights the need for increased awareness and education among the general public, as well as the need for improved services and support for TIP survivors. The project's recommendations include increasing awareness and education among the general public, improving services and support for TIP survivors, and strengthening national and local government efforts to combat TIP. The project also recommends increasing private sector partnerships to service TIP survivors and at-risk populations, as well as improving civil society organization advocacy and engagement to address TIP. Overall, the Hamro Samman Project aims to contribute to the reduction of TIP in Nepal by strengthening national and local government efforts, improving civil society organization advocacy, and increasing private sector partnerships to service TIP survivors and at-risk populations.
