Abstract
The program aims to promote healthy, non-violent relationships among intimate partners, adolescents, and their parents, and to address the underlying gender norms and inequitable social structures that drive Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The program targets 5,000 people in 16 suco (villages) in three Administrative Posts in Covalima municipality. The program has made significant progress in the first quarter of 2023, with a focus on training and capacity building. Six hundred thirteen IMPACT+ club members received life and soft skills training, facilitated by club leaders from 23 clubs in 16 villages. Two hundred twelve Parent's club members were trained on Caring for my Family, a curriculum that challenges gender roles and promotes healthy relationships. Additionally, 28 Citizen Voice and Action (CVA) committee members participated in initial training on the CVA approach, which aims to improve the accessibility and quality of public services. The program also hosted an International Women's Day event on March 8, 2023, in line with the theme 'Embrace Equity'. The event brought together community and municipality stakeholders to demonstrate solidarity for gender equity, take action as champions for women, and to voice their perspectives on challenging gender stereotypes, discrimination, and violence that limit the potential of women. The program has made significant progress in achieving its milestones, with 20 out of 22 milestones completed to date. The two remaining milestones are scheduled for August 2023. The program has also established 85% of parents' clubs and 100% of local advocacy groups, as outlined in the Fixed Amount Award (FAA) agreement.
