Abstract
The activity aims to promote healthy, non-violent relationships among intimate partners, adolescents, and their parents, and adolescents/youth. The program targets 5,000 people in 16 suco (villages) in three administrative posts in Covalima municipality. The activity team collaborated with partners and facilitated various trainings during the quarter. One of the key training activities included providing training for 198 club members on module three of the IMPACT curriculum, Evaluation, Reflection, and Dissemination. This module prepares club members to implement their Community Service Learning project. The training was conducted in collaboration with IMPACT leaders and covered topics such as defining 'community', identifying needs in the community, and working as a team to identify solutions. In addition to the IMPACT training, the activity team cooperated with Promotor Saude Familia (PSF) to provide training for 125 Parent Club members on sessions five to ten of the Caring for My Family curriculum. These sessions cover topics such as Examining Power, Making Decisions as a Team, Financial Decision Making, Sharing the Family's Work, and Family Nutrition. The Caring for My Family curriculum is taught through the Activity's Parent Clubs to engage men and women as caregivers and partners in gender equality. The activity team also implemented 12 Community Service Learning projects in 11 sukus, which involved hosting socialization events for 636 people and inviting the Vulnerable Person Unit (VPU-PNTL) and Focal Point of Sekretaria Estadu ba Igualdade no Inkluzaun (SEII) to discuss the impact and prevalence of GBV, child marriage, and child abandonment in the community. The activity team has completed 20 out of 22 milestones outlined in the Fixed Amount Award (FAA) agreement. The remaining two milestones include the end-line survey and the final report, which are planned to be completed in October 2023 and November 2023, respectively. The activity team has also represented the Healthy Relationships for a Violence-Free Future Activity at the Global Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Learning Forum, hosted by World Vision US from June 5-9, 2023, in Kigali, Rwanda. The team presented the progress and learnings to date at the forum. The activity team has made significant progress in promoting healthy relationships and preventing GBV in the target communities. The Community Service Learning projects have created a platform for young people to practice their leadership skills and develop their confidence. The training provided to Parent Club members has engaged men and women as caregivers and partners in gender equality, challenging harmful norms around masculinity and femininity. The activity team will continue to work with partners to implement the remaining milestones and ensure the successful completion of the program. The team will also continue to monitor and evaluate the program's progress, making adjustments as needed to ensure the program's effectiveness in promoting healthy relationships and preventing GBV in the target communities.
