Abstract
It is available in various forms, including Chhaya and Mala-N. These pills can be started at any time after childbirth, making them suitable for breastfeeding women. The POP regimen typically involves taking one pill daily at the same time. After finishing one pack, the first pill from the next pack should be taken on the very next day. For the first three months, one pill is taken twice a week, and from the fourth month onwards, one pill is taken once a week. If a pack is finished, the first pill from the next pack should be taken on the scheduled day. If a pill is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible. If the missed pill is taken within 12 hours or less, the regular schedule should be continued. However, if the missed pill is taken more than 12 hours after the scheduled time, two pills should be taken at the same time or on the same day. If a woman has resumed menstruation after delivery, condoms should be used for the next two days. If sex has occurred within the past 72 hours, an Emergency Contraception pill should be taken. In cases where three or more pills are missed in a row within a one- or two-week period, or if a new pack is started more than three days late, condoms should be used for the next seven days, and an Emergency Contraception pill should be taken if sex has occurred within the past 72 hours. If three or more pills are missed in a row within a three-week period, condoms should be used for the next seven days, and the hormonal pills should be finished as scheduled, while non-hormonal pills can be skipped and a new pack started immediately. Non-hormonal pills, such as iron tablets, can be discarded if missed, and the rest of the pills should be continued as scheduled. A new pack should be started as usual. If a pill is missed by one or two days but less than seven days, the normal schedule should be continued, and condoms should be used until the next period. If a pill is missed by more than seven days, the pill should be taken as a new user, with the first pill taken on the first day of the period and the second pill taken three days later. An Emergency Contraception pill should be taken if sex has occurred within the past 72 hours.
