Abstract
The project has two main goals: strengthening the foundation for a low-carbon energy system in Indonesia and contributing to the Government of Indonesia's (GOI) targets for increasing access to energy while curbing GHG emissions. The project has four components: improving the enabling environment for rapid co-investment in clean energy, accelerating the mobilization of private and public sector co-investment in clean energy, outreach on USAID and USG inter-agency activities in Indonesia's energy sector, and clean energy technology and innovation. The ICED II Project will continue the work of the ICED Project, which was implemented from March 2011 to February 2015. The project will support key public sector partners, including the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, BAPPENAS, PLN, and selected regional governments. The project will also engage with the clean energy industry, banks and financial institutions, industry associations, and professional societies. The ICED II Communications Strategy aims to effectively communicate the US Government's partnership with the Indonesian Government in the clean energy sector. The strategy will engage key target audiences, including national and selected local government institutions, key business players, and the broader public. The strategy will also promote the progress of government leadership and improvement of the policy framework related to clean energy development and low emissions development. The ICED II Project has identified key target audiences, including BAPPENAS, MEMR, MEF, PLN, OJK, selected regional governments, clean energy developers, banks and financial institutions, and the broader public. The project will use various communication tactics, including providing and updating information about progress, milestones, and achievements, and promoting a better understanding of the ICED II Project. The ICED II Communications Strategy will be a living document, reviewed and adjusted as necessary to reflect the dynamic progress of project development. The strategy will be used to determine the effectiveness of ICED II communication efforts and to outline what measures will be used to evaluate the project's success. The ICED II Project will also engage with the broader public, including industry associations, professionals, USAID, USG agencies, NGOs, and international donors. The project will use various communication channels, including roadshows, training and workshops, dissemination of reports and findings, and meetings with stakeholders.
