Abstract
The project's focus shifted from providing economic handouts and one-off activities to a more integrated approach in Year 1. In Year 2, IMARISHA's work will focus on building more and stronger strategic partnerships, rolling out practical training, providing mentoring, and sharing new innovations and ideas. IMARISHA has deepened its relationship with PEPFAR MVC and HBC IPs through various activities, particularly the sharing of results from the Household Economic Assessment (HEA). The HEA results were shared with prime partner participants, providing a better understanding of their beneficiary groups and enabling strategic planning, implementation, and partnerships with civil society, local government, and the private sector. The sharing of HEA results has strengthened IMARISHA's partnership with key prime partners and sub-partners. Pathfinder Tutunzane II used the findings to support its continuation application to CDC for annual funding. Africare Pamoja Tuwalee is rethinking its ES strategy in light of the HEA results, emphasizing savings, agricultural activities, and changing productive behaviors. FHI 360 Pamoja Tuwalee is also reviewing and understanding the results from the survey, planning to move ahead with new strategies in Quarter 3. IMARISHA has reconsidered its decision to bring on additional staff and stopped recruitment for a Grants and Procurement Officer. The project is considering whether other local staff may be required in another area. The submission of an updated program statement and budget is still pending approval by USAID to amend DAI's cooperative agreement. IMARISHA has submitted an approval request to the AOR and AO for two new grantees, Africa Bridge and BRAC, and other potential grantees are still pending review. IMARISHA's technical team has started working closely with partners to identify and administer training and technical assistance to move new interventions forward. Building upon the capacity building work that began in Year 1, IMARISHA is now more integrated and connected to numerous PEPFAR partners to expand the quality and effectiveness of the project's economic strengthening strategies. The project's focus on strategic partnerships, training, and technical assistance has led to strengthened relationships with key prime partners and sub-partners. IMARISHA's work in Year 2 will continue to build on these partnerships, providing a more integrated and effective approach to economic strengthening interventions for HIV vulnerable households.
