Abstract
The projects aimed to implement silvopastoral systems that promote ecological connectivity, provide ecosystem services, and strengthen the value chains of producers in the municipalities of Belén de los Andaquíes, San José del Fragua, and Albania. The evaluation was conducted between June and August 2018, using a qualitative methodology focused on the perceptions and opinions of participating producers. The evaluation analyzed six dimensions: participation, individual experience, favorable actions and impacts, difficulties and limitations, relationship with institutions, continuity, and sustainability. The results showed that the projects had a high impact on the priority areas, due to the commitment and participation of the producers and the management of the institutions involved in the implementation, training, and assistance processes. The evaluation found that the producers had an active participation and a high commitment towards the projects. There was a consensus on the importance of implementing the silvopastoral system through training. The activities related to the implementation exceeded the initial expectations of the participants. There was a tendency to positively value the training process and the inputs. The inputs were not central to generating sustainability and continuity in the Program C&G. The evaluation also identified the main difficulties, such as the sowing of the button of gold and the winter, as external variables that the project should take into account when planning. The evaluation proposed a global vision that related the results, goals, impacts, and indicators proposed by the institutions that led the project with the opinion of the participating producers. The evaluation clarified the impacts, results, and continuity of the Program C&G through multiple angles: social, economic, and environmental. The evaluation allowed for the relativization of the limitations of the Program C&G, as it presented the dynamics of execution and the initial planning of the phases I and II. The impacts of the project silvopastoral and technical assistance for sustainable Amazonian livestock reflected the dynamics of participation of the beneficiary producers in the two execution phases. The goals achieved in the two execution phases resulted from the planning and adaptability capacity of the institutions that led the technical assistance. The evaluation adopted a qualitative research tool that aimed to make a descriptive analysis of the project's impacts, the motivations of participation and desertion of the beneficiaries, sustainability, and continuity of the Program C&G. The evaluation was conducted through a survey of the participating producers, which provided information on their perceptions and opinions about the project. The survey was used to collect data on the six dimensions mentioned earlier. The results of the evaluation were presented in a report that included the main findings, conclusions, and recommendations. The report was used to inform the decision-making process of the institutions involved in the project and to identify areas for improvement. The evaluation provided a comprehensive understanding of the project's impacts, sustainability, and continuity, which was essential for the development of future initiatives in the region.
