Matching Support Grant is provided under project 9365060 to South Dakota State University (SDSU) to increase its capacity to serve on Title XII projects overseas.

Abstract
The grant will enable SDSU to contribute: (1) faculty and staff in the areas of range science and plant pathology to remote sensing projects in The Gambia and elsewhere in Africa; (2) a home economist and a rural sociologist to provide TA in village- level nutritional technology to the IITA (International Institute for Tropical Agriculture) project in Nigeria; and (3) faculty and staff to assist the Title XII programs of other universities. The grant will also enhance the capacity of regular SDSU employees to serve on Title XII projects; activities to be supported include plant science research in Cameroon, French language instruction, and various research, travel, and seminar activities. Finally, the grant will support TA and internships to strengthen the A.I.D.-SDSU partnership.
