The Transparency Rapid Response Project (TRRP) in Mexico aims to strengthen interinstitutional coordination mechanisms, enhance Government of Mexico (GOM) capacities, and facilitate the engagement of civil society organizations (CSOs) at the federal and state levels to prevent, investigate, and penalize corruption more effectively.

Abstract
The project's overall objective is to reduce corruption through periodic local systems analyses, strategic technical assistance, training, rapid results mechanisms, and small grants. The project is structured around four components: Demand-driven Technical Assistance, Capacity-Building, Rapid Results, and Small Grants. Component 1, Demand-driven Technical Assistance, provides technical assistance to state anti-corruption systems (SEAs) and other local stakeholders in target states. Component 2, Capacity-Building, focuses on building the capacity of CSOs and GOM agencies to prevent, investigate, and penalize corruption. Component 3, Rapid Results, aims to achieve rapid results in reducing corruption through the implementation of specific projects and initiatives. Component 4, Small Grants, provides financial support to CSOs and other stakeholders to implement projects and initiatives that contribute to reducing corruption. The project has achieved significant results in reducing corruption in Mexico. In FY 2020, the project achieved 100% of its annual performance targets, with a cumulative total of 15 legislative and/or procedural reforms to bring Federal and/or State laws and regulations in line with international standards and best practices. In FY 2021, the project achieved 95% of its annual performance targets, with a cumulative total of 18 legislative and/or procedural reforms. The project has also made significant progress in building the capacity of CSOs and GOM agencies to prevent, investigate, and penalize corruption. In FY 2020, the project trained over 500 CSO representatives and GOM agency officials on corruption prevention and investigation techniques. In FY 2021, the project trained over 700 CSO representatives and GOM agency officials on corruption prevention and investigation techniques. The project has also achieved significant results in reducing corruption through the implementation of specific projects and initiatives. In FY 2020, the project implemented 10 rapid results projects, which resulted in the recovery of over $10 million in public funds. In FY 2021, the project implemented 15 rapid results projects, which resulted in the recovery of over $20 million in public funds. The project has also made significant progress in facilitating the engagement of CSOs at the federal and state levels to prevent, investigate, and penalize corruption. In FY 2020, the project supported the establishment of 10 new CSOs in target states. In FY 2021, the project supported the establishment of 15 new CSOs in target states. The project has also achieved significant results in reducing corruption through the provision of small grants to CSOs and other stakeholders. In FY 2020, the project provided over $1 million in small grants to CSOs and other stakeholders to implement projects and initiatives that contribute to reducing corruption. In FY 2021, the project provided over $2 million in small grants to CSOs and other stakeholders to implement projects and initiatives that contribute to reducing corruption. Overall, the TRRP has made significant progress in reducing corruption in Mexico through the implementation of its four components. The project has achieved significant results in reducing corruption, building the capacity of CSOs and GOM agencies, and facilitating the engagement of CSOs at the federal and state levels. The project's results demonstrate the effectiveness of the TRRP in reducing corruption and improving governance in Mexico.
