Abstract
The program focuses on improving the quality of education in Indonesia, particularly in junior secondary schools. The program is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is implemented by RTI International. The program's main objective is to improve the teaching and learning process in junior secondary schools. To achieve this objective, the program has developed a module for adapting materials for good practice junior secondary schools. The module is designed to provide teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement good teaching practices in their classrooms. The module consists of seven units, each focusing on a specific aspect of teaching and learning. Unit 1, Membiasakan Literasi, focuses on inculcating literacy skills in students. The unit provides teachers with strategies and techniques for promoting literacy skills in their students, including the use of authentic assessment and portfolio-based evaluation. Unit 2, Portofolio dalam Penilaian Autentik, focuses on the use of portfolios in authentic assessment. The unit provides teachers with guidance on how to use portfolios to assess student learning and progress. Unit 3, Pendekatan Saintifik, focuses on the scientific approach to teaching and learning. The unit provides teachers with strategies and techniques for promoting scientific inquiry and critical thinking in their students. Unit 4, Merancang Lembar Kerja, focuses on designing worksheets and other learning materials. The unit provides teachers with guidance on how to design effective learning materials that promote student engagement and understanding. Unit 5, Materi Khusus Mata Pelajaran, focuses on providing teachers with specialized materials for specific subjects, such as mathematics, science, and social studies. Unit 6, Persiapan dan Praktik Peer Teaching, focuses on preparing and practicing peer teaching. The unit provides teachers with guidance on how to prepare their students for peer teaching and how to facilitate effective peer teaching practices. Unit 7, Rencana Tindak Lanjut, focuses on developing a plan of action for implementing the good practice junior secondary school model. The program's training schedule is designed to provide teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement the good practice junior secondary school model. The training schedule includes a series of workshops and training sessions that cover the seven units of the module. The training sessions are designed to be interactive and engaging, with opportunities for teachers to practice and apply the skills and knowledge they have learned. Overall, the USAID PRIORITAS program aims to improve the quality of education in Indonesia by providing teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement good teaching practices in their classrooms. The program's module for adapting materials for good practice junior secondary schools provides teachers with a comprehensive framework for improving teaching and learning in their schools.
