Abstract
The initiative aimed to improve agricultural productivity and market access for smallholder farmers, with a particular focus on women and vulnerable populations. Implementation details included the establishment of demonstration plots, farmer training programs, and market linkage facilitation. The program also supported the development of irrigation infrastructure, including the construction of canals and the installation of irrigation systems. The program's timeframes were divided into two phases: the first phase, which lasted for two years, focused on the establishment of demonstration plots and the provision of training to farmers. The second phase, which lasted for an additional two years, focused on the scaling up of the program and the expansion of market linkage facilitation. Recommendations from the midterm evaluation included the need to continue supporting the development of irrigation infrastructure and to provide additional training to farmers on sustainable agriculture practices. The evaluation also highlighted the importance of continued market linkage facilitation and the need to expand the program to reach more farmers and communities.
