Abstract
The program focuses on the rehabilitation or construction of roads, water, wastewater, and buildings construction projects. The Hebron WWTP Access Road project is a key component of the LCP, with the objective of providing access to the proposed Hebron wastewater treatment plant. The project involves the construction of an approximately 1.0 km two-lane access road, including asphalted sidewalks, box culverts, retaining structures, and roadway marking signs. Additionally, approximately 1.1 km of existing paved road will be rehabilitated, including widening and asphalting. The project also includes the construction of water and sewer utilities, including 2.0 km of 4-inch and 2-inch diameter water pipelines and 600 m of 60-inch diameter sewer pipe. The project is being implemented by Saqqa and Khoudary Co. Ltd. (SAK), with Black and Veatch (BV) serving as the Construction Management Contractor (CMC). The project has a total value of $2,598,705.00, with a contractual completion date of August 11, 2015. The project has been ongoing since February 12, 2015, with a planned percentage of completion of 4.24% as of February 28, 2015. Safety is a top priority for the project, with a specific Safety Plan in place to achieve the goal of "Zero Losses." The Safety Plan incorporates the belief that quality, production, efficiency, and safety are equally important in the execution of the project. The plan was submitted on January 14, 2015, and was accepted by the CMC on February 1, 2015. The project has made significant progress in the first month, with the start of construction on February 12, 2015. The project team has been working diligently to ensure that all safety measures are in place and that the project is progressing according to plan. The project dashboard status reflects the current progress, with a contract elapsed time of 31.66% and an actual percentage of completion of 4%. The project team is committed to delivering a high-quality project that meets the needs of the Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the USAID West Bank and Gaza. The project will continue to make progress in the coming months, with a focus on ensuring that all safety measures are in place and that the project is completed on time and within budget. The project has a number of key personnel, including the Task Order Manager, Samir K.El Khaldi, the Quality Control Manager, Mohammad A.Abu Zeina, and the Safety and Environmental Compliance Officer, Omar M. Qasem Al Qaisi. The project engineer, Sameer N.Tamimi, and the surveyor, Raafat Atef Abu Saymeh, are also key members of the project team. The project has a number of indicators that will be used to measure its success, including the number of kilometers of transportation infrastructure constructed or repaired and the number of person-days of employment generated. The project team will continue to work diligently to ensure that these indicators are met and that the project is completed on time and within budget.
