Abstract
The project aims to improve the transmission of water supply to villages southwest of the Jenin municipality, enhance water storability by constructing new reservoirs, and provide a reliable, safe, and affordable water supply to the project area. The project is part of the USAID Mission Infrastructure Needs Program II (INP II), which focuses on the rehabilitation and construction of roads, schools, water, and wastewater projects. The USAID objective is to help the Palestinian economy by improving Palestinians' access to basic infrastructure and services. The project's key map, Figure 1, illustrates the project location in Jenin Governorate, covering areas A, B, and C. The project's geographical scope includes the villages of Arraba, Kuferit, Ajja, Kafr Rai', Jalqamus, Al Mutilla, Meithalun, and Sanur. The project's contractual period of performance is 514 calendar days, with a modified completion date of March 22, 2017. The contract value is USD 12,949,433.37, with a BOQ line item amount of USD 12,449,433.37 and a modified day work amount of USD 397,127.23. The project's implementation involves various activities, including construction, infrastructure development, and community outreach. The project's progress is monitored through regular site visits, inspections, and quality control measures. The project's safety and environmental compliance are ensured through adherence to the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other relevant regulations. The project's community outreach program aims to engage with local stakeholders, including residents, community leaders, and local authorities. The program focuses on providing information about the project's objectives, benefits, and potential impacts on the local community. The project's progress is reported on a monthly basis, with a focus on highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned. The reports provide an update on the project's status, including the completion of tasks, the status of materials and equipment, and the implementation of quality control measures. The project's implementation is overseen by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), the Alternate Contracting Officer Technical Representative (ACOTR), and the Chief Engineer (CE). The project's progress is also monitored by the USAID Mission and the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA). The project's completion is expected to improve the water supply system in the southeast part of the Jenin Governorate, enhancing the quality of life for the local community. The project's success will depend on the effective implementation of the project's activities, the engagement of local stakeholders, and the adherence to the project's safety and environmental compliance protocols.
