Abstract
The program focuses on providing Architect-Engineer (A-E) services to support the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure, including buildings, roads, and buildings. The program is implemented by CDM International, Inc. in association with National Development Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd. and UNICON Consulting Services (Pvt.) Ltd. The project is managed by Tahir Shamshad, Project Manager/Chief of Project, and is supported by a team of experts in various fields, including engineering, architecture, and project management. The program has achieved significant progress in the past month, with a total of 12 field visits conducted to assess the status of milestones, financial statistics, and trends as of July 2021. The field visits revealed that the program has made substantial progress in the building sector, with 75% of the milestones achieved. However, the program faces challenges in the road sector, with only 50% of the milestones achieved. The program has also conducted periodic testing of materials, which revealed that the materials used in the construction of buildings and roads meet the required standards. The program has implemented measures to ensure the protection of children and people with disabilities, including the involvement of women in construction activities and the consideration of children with disabilities in the design and construction of buildings. The program has achieved significant financial progress, with a total of $10 million disbursed as of July 2021. The program has also made significant progress in the environmental compliance reporting, with a review of the Environmental Development Fund (EDF) and the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) conducted. The program has identified key issues and recommendations, including the need for improved stakeholder engagement, the need for increased transparency and accountability, and the need for improved project management and monitoring. The program has also recommended the establishment of a project management office to oversee the implementation of the program.
