Abstract
This team produces projects that center on women, filling a gap in media coverage of female subjects in the conservative city of Mazar-e Sharif. The team's formation was made possible by the Assistance in Building Afghanistan by Developing Enterprises (ABADE) program, which provided funding and resources for Pardaz to expand its workforce and equipment. With the help of ABADE, the company was able to purchase new cameras, sound and lighting equipment, and hire five new women employees. The team now consists of 12 workers, including the original six, who work in a refurbished four-room studio. The all-woman team at Pardaz has enabled the company to take on new business and produce a variety of video commercials and in-depth documentaries that center on women. New employee Ghezal Jan Osmani credits Pardaz with helping her realize her professional goal of being a writer and photographer, stating that it is fulfilling to be doing her dream job and be part of an all-women video production team. Pardaz's expansion has also allowed the company to cover women-only events and interview female subjects, providing a unique perspective on women's issues in Afghanistan. The team's work has been made possible by the modern equipment and larger studio space, which has enabled them to produce high-quality content. The success of Pardaz's all-woman team has been facilitated by the ABADE program, which has provided the necessary resources and funding for the company's expansion. As a result, Pardaz is now able to produce a wider range of content that centers on women, providing a valuable service to the community and promoting greater understanding and representation of women's issues in Afghanistan.
