Abstract
The region has been affected by conflict, displacement, and food insecurity. The USG has committed funding for FY 2012 and has ongoing activities from FY 2011. Agriculture and food security are key areas of focus in the Three Areas. The USG has provided funding for programs aimed at improving agricultural productivity, increasing food availability, and enhancing market access. These programs have included farmer training, infrastructure development, and market linkage facilitation. Humanitarian coordination and information management are also critical components of the USG's response in the Three Areas. The USG has provided funding for programs that support the coordination of humanitarian activities, provide information management services, and enhance the capacity of local organizations to respond to humanitarian needs. The USG has also provided funding for economic recovery and market systems programs in the Three Areas. These programs aim to improve the economic well-being of affected populations by enhancing their access to markets, improving their livelihoods, and promoting economic growth. In addition to these programs, the USG has provided funding for a range of humanitarian activities in the Three Areas, including food assistance, health services, IDP assistance, logistics and relief commodities, mine risk education, nutrition, protection, refugee assistance, shelter and settlements, and water, sanitation, and hygiene. The USG has also provided funding for programs in other regions of Sudan, including Northern Sudan, Eastern Sudan, and South Sudan. These programs aim to address a range of humanitarian needs, including food insecurity, displacement, and conflict-related needs. The USG's humanitarian assistance in Sudan is provided through a range of implementing partners, including ACTED, Concern, CRS, DRC, HelpAge International, IMC, Medair, Merlin, SC, TDH, WRI, COOPI, GOAL, PAI, RI, ZOA, WFP, ARC, CARE, IMC, Mercy Corps, Merlin, UNMCOR, World Vision, ZOA, CRS, FAO, UNDP, UNDSS, UNFPA, UNHABITAT, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO.
