Abstract
The USG has committed funding for FY 2012 and is continuing activities initiated in FY 2011. Key areas of focus include Agriculture and Food Security, Humanitarian Coordination and Information Management, Economic Recovery and Market Systems, Health, IDP Assistance, Logistics and Relief Commodities, Mine Risk Education, Nutrition, Protection, Refugee Assistance, Shelter and Settlements, and Title II Food Assistance. The USG is providing humanitarian assistance to various locations within the Three Areas, including Abeche, El Geneina, and Nyala. Organizations involved in the humanitarian response include ACTED, Concern, CRS, DRC, HelpAge International, IMC, Medair, Merlin, SC, TDH, WRI, COOPI, GOAL, PAI, RI, ZOA, WFP, ARC, CARE, IMC, Mercy Corps, Merlin, UNDP, UNDSS, UNFPA, UNHABITAT, UNICEF, and WHO. In addition to the Three Areas, the USG is also providing humanitarian assistance to other parts of Sudan, including Northern Sudan, Eastern Sudan, and South Sudan. The USG is committed to providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Sudan, particularly in areas affected by conflict and displacement. The USG is working with various organizations to provide a range of humanitarian services, including food assistance, shelter, and protection. The USG is also providing support for economic recovery and market systems, as well as for agriculture and food security.
