The program focuses on improving the capacity of DPRD members to perform their legislative, budgeting, monitoring, and representation functions. This is achieved through a series of training sessions and workshops that cover topics such as leadership, democracy, and public service oversight. The training materials are designed to be a reference guide for improving the capacity of DPRD members. LGSP operates in over 60 districts and cities across nine provinces in Indonesia, including Aceh, Sumatera Utara, Sumatera Barat, Banten, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, Sulawesi Selatan, and Papua Barat. The program is implemented from March 1, 2005, to September 30, 2009. The manual "Membuat Wakil Rakyat Semakin Bermartabat" is a guide for improving the capacity of DPRD members. The manual is divided into eight sessions, each covering a specific topic related to the role and function of DPRD members. The sessions include orientation and building a conducive atmosphere, building a personal image, leadership in local governance, democracy and good governance, legislative processes, budgeting and planning, public service oversight, and accountability mechanisms. The manual provides a comprehensive framework for improving the capacity of DPRD members to perform their functions effectively.
