Abstract
The program operated from October 2017 to September 2018, with a focus on strengthening intellectual property rights, developing a modern national quality framework, and enhancing the role of media in economic reform. Economic Policy Making and Implementation The program's Component 1 focused on strengthening intellectual property rights, developing a modern national quality framework, and strengthening consumer rights. Key activities included: * Strengthen Intellectual Property Rights: The program supported the development of a national intellectual property law, which was drafted and submitted to the Myanmar Parliament for approval. * Develop a Modern National Quality Framework: The program assisted the Myanmar Standards and Quality Department in developing a national quality framework, which was aligned with international standards. * Strengthen the Protection of Consumer Rights: The program supported the development of a consumer protection law, which was drafted and submitted to the Myanmar Parliament for approval. Building Capacity for Effective Policy Dialogue and Entrepreneurship The program's Component 2 focused on building capacity for effective policy dialogue and entrepreneurship.
