Abstract
The course focuses on developing a comprehensive understanding of strategy and its application in achieving organizational vision. Key learning objectives include explaining the importance of strategy, understanding the strategic planning process, and practicing strategic analysis using the PESTEL tool. The course emphasizes the significance of business acumen, which encompasses a range of skills and knowledge essential for effective business decision-making. These skills include financial management, market analysis, and risk assessment. Participants are expected to create an action plan for improving their business acumen, enabling them to make informed decisions and drive business growth. The strategic planning process involves a deliberate effort by organizations to achieve their vision based on unique activities that align the entire organization and require trade-offs. This approach is distinct from traditional long-term planning, which was often fixed and aloof from client needs. In contrast, modern business strategy is characterized by a near- and long-term focus, continuous adaptation, and close collaboration with clients. To develop a strategy, participants are guided through a structured approach that involves identifying the current state, determining the desired future state, and outlining the steps necessary to achieve it. This process includes conducting a baseline assessment via customer feedback, employee pulse checks, and regulatory feedback, as well as performing strategic analysis using tools such as PESTEL, SWOT, and Porter's Five Forces. The resulting strategic action plan outlines the organization's vision, mission, values, and key objectives. Throughout the course, participants are encouraged to engage actively, share their perspectives, and provide feedback to one another. The facilitator provides guidance and support, responding to questions and comments in real-time. By the end of the module, participants are expected to have a deeper understanding of strategy and its application in achieving business success.
