2022 · 49 pages

Abstract
The course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the energy sector. Key topics include current and future careers in the energy sector, required skills for the future of work, and soft skills needed to advance in one's career. Employability is a critical aspect of the course, defined as the ability to obtain, maintain, and transition between jobs. The energy sector is experiencing significant changes, driven by the shift towards renewable energy and the need for skilled professionals. Competency gaps in the sector include a lack of skills in areas such as data analysis, digital literacy, and project management. The course outline includes modules on employability skills self-assessment, career growth, and future prospects in the energy sector. Participants are encouraged to annotate their experiences with the new stresses of remote working, including unplugging from work, loneliness, and unreliable internet connections. The facilitator emphasizes the importance of being present, open to new ideas, and respectful of others' views during the training. The learning objectives of the course include identifying current and future careers in the energy sector, discerning the soft skills needed to advance in one's career, and learning how to remain relevant as one's role or job changes. The course also covers topics such as re-skilling strategy, workforce needs in the energy sector, and opportunities within the power and renewable energy sectors. The facilitator encourages participants to engage actively in the training, using the chat feature to comment, ask questions, and provide feedback. Participants are also advised to have an electronic copy of their CV open on their device during the training. The course aims to equip women with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the energy sector and to remain relevant in a rapidly changing work environment.
