Abstract
foreign policy initiatives. Under this contract, Training Resources Group, Inc. (TRG) has assisted OTI by finding new ways to improve staff education, efficiency, and effectiveness to maximize overall organizational success in country programs. TRG's role for this IQC is to provide inputs and support in the areas of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Professional Development and Training, Knowledge Management (KM), and Outreach. TRG leads a team of successful partners from the QED Group, LLC (QED), with expertise in M&E, KM, and Outreach; Forum One, with expertise in web development and Information Technology (IT) applications for KM; and EDF Communications, with experience in high-quality strategic communications and outreach. Under the PDQ III IQC, TRG and partners have implemented and completed numerous activities under the following Task Orders: Task Order 1, OTI Yemen Strategy Review Session (SRS); Task Order 2, Short-term Facilitation and Training; Task Order 6, Digital Media support; Task Order 7, Tunisia Transition Initiative (TTI) Final Evaluation; and Task Order 8, Cote d'Ivoire Transition Initiative (CITI) Final Evaluation. Task Order 2, which involves facilitation and training during OTI SRSes, AERs, and other PPM-related sessions, has been ongoing since January 2013 and has thus far included 49 activities. Task Order 6, which consists of digital media production, training, integrated communications strategies, and tools, was awarded in September and has had 5 activities, with two concluding thus far. Task Order 8, CITI Final Evaluation, was awarded on January 14, 2014, and the evaluation team conducted two field trips and submitted 2 rounds of draft reports in July and August, making their final presentation in September. TRG's coaches are providing ongoing executive coaching support to 8 OTI staff, including 1 Division Chief, 2 Country Representatives, 4 Team Leaders, and 1 Deputy Team Leader. The coaching is being provided by several different TRG coaches, including Graeme Frelick, Laura Guyer, Lisa Howard-Grabman, Rachael Wilcox, and Steve Yank. TRG has also provided input on guidelines and lessons learned about facilitator selection and pairing of internal and external facilitators, which was agreed upon by the COR to explore with ABC and FPD management. The OMD Retreat, which aimed to gather all the staff of OMD to reflect and build their collective skills in an annual retreat, was delivered on July 17th and August 6th. The focus of the event was on customer service, and the objectives were to identify how MBTI preferences in conflict support and challenge the provision of effective customer service, both personally and within OMD teams, and to create strategies for using non-defensive skills in customer interactions more productively. The event was seen as impactful, with ABC Team colleague, Jordan Pearlstein, asking for a deconstruction of what enabled the success of this AER and how it might be applied to future AERs. The Tunisia AER, which aimed to bring together key leaders from OTI and DAI to look at promising practices and lessons learned from Tunisia's Transition Initiative following close-out, was delivered from July 7th to July 9th. The objectives were to engage in critical, candid conversation aimed at strengthening partnering practices between OTI and DAI, to identify and capture promising practices and lessons learned from Tunisia program that have potential applicability to other transition initiatives, to celebrate the successes and honor the legacy of the Tunisia program, and to articulate next steps in sharing promising practices and lessons learned from the Tunisia program.
