The training program for Project Managers (PMs) and Constituency Coordinators (CCs) was conducted by the Training and Development for Election Administration (TDEA) in collaboration with the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) from April 4-6, 2019, in Islamabad.

Abstract
The training aimed to enhance the capacity of PMs and CCs in observing and reporting on the electoral process in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, particularly in the post-merger areas of FATA. The training sessions focused on TDEA's methodology for electoral process observation and reforms, including interactive discussions, group work, quizzes, and power-point presentations. The facilitators discussed and explained the checklists thoroughly, and pre-test and post-test were conducted to gauge the improvement in knowledge of the participants. The training evaluation revealed that 90% of the participants found the training overall good, and 93% of the participants found the activities and exercises helpful in learning. The training agenda included sessions on independent election observation, constitutional provisions on elections, pre-election observation checklists, coordination and communication, voter registration process, responsibilities of project staff, meetings with election officials on election preparations, and project reporting. The training also covered topics such as electoral laws, electoral reforms, and the role of civil society in promoting electoral transparency and accountability. The training report highlights the importance of strengthening citizen oversight of electoral processes, improving enforcement of electoral regulations, and enhancing citizens' confidence in political and electoral processes. The project aims to achieve these objectives through the observation of KP elections, advocacy for electoral reforms, and capacity building of PMs and CCs. The training evaluation revealed that the participants found the training sessions informative and helpful in understanding the electoral process and reforms. The facilitators used simple and easy language in the handbook, and the timings and breaks were according to the agenda. The training report concludes that the training was successful in enhancing the capacity of PMs and CCs in observing and reporting on the electoral process in KP province. The project will continue to work towards promoting electoral transparency and accountability in KP province, and the training program will be an essential component of this effort.
