Abstract
The program has three main components: truth-telling and memory, reconciliation efforts, and strategic alliances that foster socio-economic opportunities. PAR has formed alliances with major companies, media outlets, and organizations to promote awareness and mobilization initiatives. These alliances have led to various accomplishments, including the launch of the online Center for Reconciliation Resources, which provides tools and methodologies for private sector, social organizations, and governments to launch or promote reconciliation-related activities. The National Center for Historical Memory has archived 91,249 images and newspaper articles in its Virtual Archive of Human Rights and Historical Memory. Additionally, 145,080 copies of the Semana Rural newspaper reached an estimated 435,240 readers, and 3,000 copies of the book Heroes of Reconciliation were distributed to 110 public libraries in PAR municipalities. Youth leaders in 24 PAR municipalities interviewed 41 youth for a comprehensive Search for Common Ground (SFCG) youth mapping document. The Bajemosle al Tonito launch was the second-ranked trending topic on Twitter for February, and 950 public school teachers gained tools to promote conflict resolution in their classrooms through a virtual learning course. PAR has also supported local initiatives, including peace stores in various municipalities, which have boosted local economies. The Aplameda association increased its plantain production by 107%. PAR held its first Decembros in Embera language for a cocoa-growing indigenous community in Bojaya. The program has also supported at-risk children and youth in Bogotá and Ciénaga, teaching them values of leadership, values, and cultures of peace through artistic and sports activities. The program aims to promote awareness, mobilization, and action among Colombians to come to terms with the conflict and engage in constructive dialogue.
