The program is implemented by the Monitoring & Evaluation Services Malakand, with Al-Kasib Group of Engineering Services as the consultant. The program's primary focus is on rebuilding schools, health facilities, and water and sanitation infrastructure. As of November 2012, the implementation status of USAID-funded sub-projects under the program is as follows. In Swat District, a total of 79 schools have been tendered, with work orders issued for 78 schools. Work is underway on 58 schools, while 20 schools have been completed. However, work has been stopped at GGHSS Manglawar due to land sliding, and a revised design has been submitted to PaRRSA for approval. In Dir Lower District, a total of 20 schools have been tendered, with work orders issued for 19 schools. Work is underway on 13 schools, while 6 schools have been completed and handed over to the Education Department. In Dir Upper District, a total of 5 schools have been tendered, with work orders issued for 2 schools. However, the contractor for GGPS Chiragalai has not started construction activities, and the school has been decided to be retendered. In Buner District, a total of 13 schools have been tendered, with work orders issued for 13 schools. Work is underway on 9 schools, while 3 schools have been completed and handed over to the Education Department. In addition to schools, the program is also focused on rebuilding water and sanitation infrastructure. In Buner District, 13 schemes have been approved at a cost of Rs. 100.53 million, including the development of 8 existing capped tube wells and 6 new tube wells to be drilled. The program is also focused on rebuilding health facilities. In Swat District, work on 3 BHUs (Nazar Abad, Mian Kalay, and Kishowra) continued during the reporting month with a slow pace. However, the contractor of 4th BHU (Chungai Shamozai) in Swat has not started any physical activity at site. In Buner District, the contractor of BHU Topai had halted construction activities after excavation for more than 3 months. After the decision taken by PD PU (C&W) to rescind his contract, the contractor has resumed work on the main building of the BHU in the last week of the reporting month. The program is also focused on rebuilding flood-damaged infrastructure. In Bajaur Agency, work continued during the month on the excavation of earth work and construction of retaining walls on Kot Barang Road. The contractor has completed the confirmatory boring for the two piers of the Selai Patai Bridge. Sub-soil samples have been collected and sent for geotechnical report, which is still awaited. In Swat, the PIL # 22 for reconstruction of Khawaza Khela Bridge has been approved, and the contractor has been directed to initiate physical activities.
