Abstract
These centers provide a range of services to support families and individuals with disabilities, including psychological support, labor and occupational workshops, individual and group treatment, and education and training for staff and beneficiaries. The centers are managed by local associations, with five active Service Centers located in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, and Foča. Each center provides a range of services, including short stays, psychological support, labor and occupational workshops, individual and group treatment, and education and training. Some centers also offer additional services, such as information and legal advice, mobile team support, outdoor activities, and creative workshops. In the period between January and March 2019, the Service Centers in Sarajevo (SC #1 and SC #2) conducted a range of activities to support families and individuals with disabilities. These activities included education and training for teaching staff, meetings with school psychologists and parents, lectures for students, and visits from representatives of Sparkasse Bank LLC BiH. The centers also marked the International Day of People with Down Syndrome with workshops and activities. Service Center #1 in Sarajevo conducted a range of activities, including training for representatives of the Association "Zemlja djece u BiH", inclusive workshops with children from preschool institutions, musical therapy workshops, and meetings with representatives of the Municipality of Stari Grad. The center also hosted students from the "Maarif" High School, who participated in volunteering activities and workshops. Service Center #2 in Sarajevo also conducted a range of activities, including a press conference on the occasion of the Law on Changes and Amendments to the Law on Social Welfare Funds, Civilian Victims of War and Protection of Families with Children. The center also hosted musical therapy workshops and meetings with representatives of the Municipality of Stari Grad. The Service Centers have seen a constant increase in the number of beneficiaries and services provided, with over 11,000 services provided in the period of July - September 2018. The centers have also seen an increase in the number of registered families, with 766 families registered at the end of December 2018. The centers' services are highly valued by beneficiaries, who have recommended the centers to other families of children and people with developmental difficulties. The Service Centers' activities are focused on supporting families and individuals with disabilities, and promoting inclusion and social welfare. The centers' services are designed to meet the needs of beneficiaries, and to provide a range of support and resources to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
