Abstract
The program focuses on three main purposes: sustained improvement in health and nutritional status of women of reproductive age, adolescent girls, and children under five; household incomes and production sufficient to access food and non-food essentials and build savings; and enhanced social and ecological risk management. To achieve Purpose 1, the program is implementing activities under three sub-purposes. Sub-purpose 1.1 aims to sustain consumption of optimal diets by women of reproductive age, adolescent girls, and children under five through activities such as training on nutrition and hygiene practices, and provision of food assistance. Sub-purpose 1.2 focuses on providing timely and high-quality preventive and curative healthcare to women of reproductive age, adolescent girls, and children under five through activities such as health education, maternal and child health services, and disease surveillance. Sub-purpose 1.3 aims to reduce exposure to pathogens in households and community environments through activities such as water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) promotion, and provision of hand-washing devices. To achieve Purpose 2, the program is implementing activities under two sub-purposes. Sub-purpose 2.1 aims to increase agricultural production by women, youth, and men through activities such as training on agricultural practices, provision of inputs and services, and support for income-generating activities. Sub-purpose 2.2 focuses on promoting profitable income-generating activities among women, youth, and men through activities such as training on business skills, provision of financial services, and support for market access. To achieve Purpose 3, the program is implementing activities under three sub-purposes. Sub-purpose 3.1 aims to enhance cooperation and governance of organizations and institutions through activities such as capacity building, coordination, and advocacy. Sub-purpose 3.2 focuses on improving management of shocks and risks by households and communities through activities such as disaster risk reduction and management, and provision of emergency assistance. Sub-purpose 3.3 aims to restore and protect ecosystems through activities such as reforestation, conservation, and sustainable land management. The program is facing challenges, including poor road conditions in the implementation areas due to heavy rains. The program is also implementing cross-cutting components, including food commodity management, gender, youth, and social dynamics, and monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning. The program plans to continue implementing activities in the next reporting quarter, with a focus on addressing the challenges and achieving the program's objectives.
