Abstract
The contract was awarded by USAID's GenDev Office in June 2014. The purpose of the contract is to provide technical assistance to USAID Missions and Bureaus across sectors to implement the Gender Equality and Female Empowerment policy. In the quarter of April 2018 to June 2018, Banyan Global received one new work order under the Gender Integration and Technical Assistance Task Order. The task order, numbered AID-OAA-TO-17-00018, is designed to provide on-demand, rapid-response, short-term technical assistance to USAID operating units to implement the Gender Equality and Female Empowerment policy. The task order is intended to assist operating units to fill gaps in staff capacity and complement the efforts of the Office of Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GEWE) to respond to mission and office requests. The Gender Integration Technical Assistance (GITA) Task Order is structured to be flexible and responsive, and may include various activities such as gender analyses, sector-specific gender analyses, desk studies, monitoring and learning plans, and technical assistance to improve the capacity of missions and other operating units to incorporate gender- and inclusive development-related issues. In collaboration with Ms. Cabus and USAID/Guatemala, Banyan Global finalized the scope of work and budget for the first work order under GITA: A USAID/Guatemala Gender Assessment. The research team is currently preparing the draft gender analysis and gender assessment reports, which will be submitted to USAID on July 31, 2018. Banyan Global also developed a scope of work and budget for GenDev's review to design a template Gender Analysis SOW and associated sector tools. The objective of the template is to support the standardization of gender analysis research across missions and operating units. The electronic template will enable a more streamlined design and procurement of this foundational gender research. In May 2018, Banyan Global began work on the Gender Analysis Electronic Scope of Work Template. During the quarter, Banyan Global also produced sector guidance documents, which outline areas of inquiry and associated data sources for various USAID sectors, including Economic Growth and Women's Empowerment, Gender-Based Violence, Education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, and Disaster Risk and Reduction. The contract details include a ceiling price of $1,538,772.71 and an initial obligated amount of $150,000.00. The contract is managed by the E3 Bureau Office of Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment, with Sylvia Cabus as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and Shannon White as the Contracting Officer. The period of performance for the contract is from September 7, 2017, to September 6, 2018, with three one-year option periods.
